Rashid rana artist statement

Widely considered to be most original and prominent artist working in South Asia today, Rashid Rana lives, works and teaches in Lahore, Pakistan. He emerged in the early years of this century as the most energetic and productive representative of an entirely new kind of art from Pakistan.

His works are in various public and private collections including the British Museum London, Metropolitan Museum NewYork, Fukuoka Museum of Art, Japan and Saatchi Collection, London.

Rashid Rana is the recipient of the prestigious Game Changer Asia Art Award, the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, a prestigious civilian honour conferred by the President of Pakistan, and was also awarded International Artist of the Year by SAVAC Canada in His work for the Pakistan Pavilion exterior at the World Expo (21) Dubai garnered international recognition, taking home the Burj CEO Award for Best Pavilion Exterior Design.
