Ahmed Hassan Zewail (February 26, – August 2, ) was an Egyptian-American chemist,[4] known as the "father of femtochemistry".[5] He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work on femtochemistry and became the first Egyptian and Arab to win a Nobel Prize in a scientific field,[4] and also first African to win a Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
